Dear Andrew, Fiona, and Dylan,
I am so grateful for my friendship with Amy. We enjoyed many walks together in the neighbourhood or sitting on my porch having a glass of wine while watching the fireflies. We sometimes hung out in your backyard, and when I think of Amy's spectacular garden, I feel that it symbolizes her beautiful spirit. She always told me how much she deeply loved all three of you. She was so proud of you Dylan and Fiona. It seems to me that in big ways like your family trips, and in small ways, like the humorous stories of your pets' antics, love was always there in the details. When I spent time with Amy, I was always so inspired by her positive attitude to life. She embraced her life and all of her people. I count myself fortunate to have had her as my friend. Amy's intelligence, wit, kindness, and generosity will continue to shine as a brilliant light for me of what is possible in terms of human warmth and love. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time of grieving. With much love and heartfelt condolences, Susan Holloway (and Natalia and Esteban)

Dear Andrew, Dylan, and Fiona,
I'm so saddened to hear about Amy. I believe the last time I saw Amy was the double date you (Andrew), Amy, Erin, and I went on in Detroit. I still have fond memories of that night.
Amy always expressed so much love for you all every time we talked. I loved thinking about your beautiful family and how much love there was.
I also was always so in awe of Amy's musical artistry and loved hearing about the teaching she was doing, and all of the children she influenced in such positive ways.
I'm so, so sorry for your loss and I'm sending so much love to you all.

Dear Andrew, Dylan, and Fiona,
Hugs and love to you all, here in the place that words fail.
Early memories of Amy are of course from across the orchestra, the unmistakeable solidity and beauty of her harp playing was a beacon of musicality for the whole ensemble.
Getting to know her socially I was not alone in falling deeply in thrall with her kindness, excellent sardonic humor, and sparkling eyes. Of course, Amy only had eyes for Andrew, and watching the family grow has seemed a procession of blessings.
We cherish so many moments with Amy in our lives, and will hold them in our hearts for the rest of our days.
May her memory be a blessing.

It was always a pleasure to hear Amy play. I often sat in close proximity to her during my years in the WSO. It was obvious musicality and professional demeanor were top of mind whenever she came into the concert hall. I was privileged to have subbed on the Flint Symphony concert that Amy performed the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto with (then principal flutist) Laura Larson—stunning. She will be missed in the musical community.

Dear Andrew, Dylan and Fiona
Amy started to teach Phoenicia at age 7 , she was to be her youngest student at the time, and became her longest lasting student.
She continued to teach them into University.
The lessons started at the old house on dougall in the basement.
Amy was patient, clear and most of all always encouraging.
Charlie is now 23 and Amy became more than a harp teacher , she became a safe supportive and trusted woman in his life.
I will always be grateful to Amy for being there for Charlie.
Amy encouraged Charlie to play harp for the provincial Kiwanis music festival and Charlie won, thus having a deep impact on their self confidence.
Amy gave Charlie so many opportunities to grow and shine and each in turn gave him the gift of self confidence and self love.
As a mother, when a person gives that to your child, you honour them and acknowledge them for a heart full of gratitude.
With the passing of Amy she leaves a huge space in many lives .
I am sorry for the grief you will all be experiencing now.
I just wanted you to know I am so very grateful to her for the love and compassion she shared with my child.

It was an honour to perform with Amy. I vividly remember hearing her Waltz of the Flowers solo from a few seasons ago. All I can say is that was absolutely stunning. That's the kind of musician that inspires you to play your best and push yourself just a little more. She was an incredible musician and a beacon of joy to work with. It's a huge loss for the music community and this world - sending my condolences to you all.

Amy was such a positive influence in our community. Her generous personality and passion for music, community and youth was amazing. I loved the time that I spent working with her on 4th Wall Music projects and loved to see her creativity, wit, artistic inspiration and desire to connect with musicians and community members across our area.
She was an amazing player and I always enjoyed performing with her or watching and hearing her play in the Flint and Windsor symphonies. She brought an energy and passion to her playing that was infectious and was a pleasure both for her colleagues and all of her many students.
Amy will be dearly missed by so many across our local community and even farther across the continent. I send all my best wishes to Andrew, Dylan and Fiona and all of Amy's extended family. She left too soon but left us with memories of much joy and love.

My deepest condolences to the whole family.
I met Amy when I moved to Windsor 20 years ago. I was looking to re-kindle my love for the harp, and I was lucky to find Amy, who became not only my harp teacher but a close friend. Her love of life and music was captivating, and I always felt welcome and happy when we had our lessons with tea. Her mastery of the harp was an inspiration for me, her other students and everyone who was fortunate enough to hear her play.
Her determination and desire to make the world a better place will never be forgotten.
May her memory be a blessing

Dear Andrew, Dylan and Fiona, my family was so saddened to hear of Amy's passing. She was the harpist at our daughter's wedding ceremony in September 2017. She was such a talented musician and an absolutely beautiful lady inside and out. My daughter and I to this day remember her elegance, infectious smile, her warmth and love of music. And yes, the way she performed "Pachabel's Cannon in D" at the wedding was beyond extraordinary and so memorable. How blessed you were to have had her in your lives. Sending you comfort and our deepest condolences.

Dear Andrew, Dylan, & Fiona,
I shared many special moments with Amy while onstage with her in Flint and at other gigs. How I will miss her beautiful playing and shining personality- it is hard to imagine the “Freeway Philharmonic” without her. I so enjoyed commiserating and contemplating with her- she always had a smile and radiated good will no matter what was happening around her on stage. Grace under pressure doesn’t even begin to describe it. She was such a bright light in so many ways.
Sending you and all who knew her comfort during this difficult time.

I've spent many a Saturday morning sitting on your living room rug, watching squirmy little children plunk out their scales. What I wouldn't give to be there again, watching you teach and work your magic.
Amy, I hope you know just how much you mean to all those little kids and their parents. You not only gave them the gift of music, but the gift of grit, perseverance, bravery. We learned that it's ok to make mistakes. We learned how to try even if we weren't entirely confident. And we learned that the polished piece at the end is nice to have - but the real treasure was the journey and the things we learned to get there.
To say we are devastated is an understatement. But in the grief I hope your family can appreciate how absolutely loved you are by so many. Rest well, Amy. Eddie, Odette and Eliette will always remember to take small bites of the hamburger and not shove it all in their mouths (iykyk ❤️)

Amy believed in me when I was unsure. She could lift me out of any rut with her positivity and with the way her beautiful spirit filled the room like a weighted hug. She wasn't afraid to share her thoughts with me when she needed a friend. We talked about our families, our dreams, our gigs, our worries. I could talk to her about anything... and the way her face would light up... and. that. smile. She held me close enough to meet her beautiful kids and husband. Oh how she loved you two, Dylan and Fiona. She always felt she was learning how to be a better mom to both of you. She worked hard at being better at it.
To Amy's mother, I'm so *incredibly* sorry for my confusion on Friday morning.
We had some fun times, Amy Ley. I hope you are out there somewhere, exploring all those routes of endless possibility that you would talk about. You deserve all the freedom and all the light.
